Welcome to the Deerfield Beach Arboretum
What is an arboretum?
According to Webster's Dictionary an arboretum is described as "a botanical garden for scientific, educational or decorative purposes, but as explained by former City Forester Zeke Landis in 1995 to a group of children attending an Arbor Day Celebration, it is a "Tree Zoo." The analogy is that if a group of animals on display were dtermined to be in a zoo, then this display of many strange and different types of trees and palms must be a zoo also, a "Tree Zoo."
The Deerfield Beach Arboretum is home to more than 200 different species of trees and palms from five continents around the world. Housed in Constitution Park, the Tree Zoo is perfect for a wonderful natural escape. Take a walk along its' lovely paths as they wend through the trees, play tennis or perhaps basketball. There is a also a children's playground lined with recycled rubber for safety and comfort.
The Arboretum is fully accesible by wheelchair.
